"The thing I love most about embroidery is that I can create and express myself wherever and whenever. All I need is a hoop and a needle. It's a time where I can just take a pause and reflect on what matters to me and create something meaningful with my hands"
- Mardhiah Mahmood
When Mardhiah found out she was pregnant with her first child back in 2014, she was just three months into her new job. It wasn't an easy decision to make but she decided that leaving her job was the best option for herself and her baby. Blessed with an abundance of time and still adapting to a sudden change of routines, Mardhiah wasn't intending to waste any minute of it. An afternoon spent surfing on the internet found her signing up for online embroidery classes. The rest was history. Presently with two babies in tow (a three year old and a two month old baby), Mardhiah continues to pursue her passion of creating meaningful embroidery in which she stitches birth affirmations, motherhood and her personal reflections into masterpieces and shares them on her Instagram @mekarmaker In her words, "Embroidery has helped me in my journey of self growth and learning to love myself, one stitch at a time"
Join us in this interactive and hands-on session as she shares her stories of self discovery, growth and motherhood. You'll also get a chance to experience making your very own embroidery piece with your initials on it for keeps!
