Vietnamese cuisine is well known for it's distinctive flavor which reflects one or more of the Asian principle of five elements (Spices (ngũ vị), Organs (ngũ tạng),Colors (ngũ sắc), Senses (ngũ giác ) and Nutrients (ngũ chất). Traditional Vietnamese cooking is greatly admired for its fresh ingredients. It uses minimal dairy and oil, has complementary textures and uses plenty of herbs and vegetables. With the balance between fresh herbs and meats and a selective use of spices to reach a fine taste, Vietnamese food is considered one of the healthiest cuisines in Southeast Asia.
We will be exploring and preparing the following dishes:
Vietnamese Spring Roll (choose btw fried or non fried)
Fuss Free Vietnamese Beef Pho
Chè Long Nhãn Hat Sen (Longan and Lotus Seed Sweet Soup)
