A collaborative initiative by Asha & co + our professional therapists

WHAT, Why & who IS the individual support session for?

Individual Support Session is a collaborative initiative by Asha & Co and registered therapists in Singapore to provide pro-bono counselling sessions for women who are currently struggling in navigating through this uncertain time and who may benefit from additional professional support.

Based on a recent report on April 15 by CNA, “Suicide prevention agency Samaritans of Singapore’s (SOS) chief executive Gasper Tan said that they received an increase of more than 22 per cent in the number of calls attended to on their 24-hour hotline in March 2020 as compared to that of the same period in 2019.

The Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) observed an increase in phone calls to several services as well. The SAMH Insight Centre, which provides counselling services, saw an increase in helpline calls by 50 per cent in February and March 2020 compared to the average calls from April 2019 to Jan 2020.

We want you to know that you don't need to carry that burden all by yourself, your worries and feelings are valid and we will walk through this together with you.

Asha & Co stands strong by our beliefs that mental health does not discriminate nor do you need a prior mental health diagnosis to talk to a professional. Everyone can benefit from talking to a mental health professional especially during an unprecedented and traumatic time like this.

If you are a licensed mental health professional and would like to contribute to this initiative, please drop us an email at ask.ashanco@gmail.com
