what is the light within me retreat ?

The Light Within Me retreat celebrates women as the full circle and empowers her to reconnect with her inner being through honest conversations within a safe space, meditative aroma yoga, creative and journalling sessions.

In this retreat, we hope to empower women to trust that she has everything within her to live and thrive in abundance. We also want her to know that she doesn't have to do all the self-work alone, because we're here for you!

This journey would also allow you the opportunity to be an agent of change and be part of designing an impactful education exchange programme in collaboration with a local ethical social enterprise we are working with to empower the local tribe women who are often susceptible to human trafficking and violence.

Together with 7 other adventurous ladies, experience taking an overnight sleeper train from Hanoi to Sapa and wake up being greeted by a beautiful sunrise, start and end your day being energized with aroma yoga, honour your thoughts and emotions through journalling and art; holding space for yourself and others as we have honest conversations, enjoy trekking through the bamboo forest and corn fields as you take in the fresh air, experience living with the local tribes, marvel over the beauty around you - this retreat encourages you to embrace you and the person you can be.

Asha Adnan

Asha runs a peer support community that supports women seeking a safe space to practice mental wellness and those who are healing and living in recovery from mental illness and abuse. Being a survivor of childhood abuse and living in recovery from mental health issues has taught her the importance of taking care of one's well being, understanding one's worth through self-work practices and the value of community in one's journey of learning and healing. She is dedicated in equipping and inspiring you with the knowledge and tools to living a life that embraces growth in your every day, encouraging you to reach out to your inner abundance within you, one step at a time; sustainably, mindfully and purposefully.

Ezan Shah

An executive assistant by day, Ezan Shah is a Reiki practitioner, healer and an embodied Aroma Yoga teacher who is obsessed with Young Living essential oils. She has an incredible gift of intuition, which she uses to help her to assess the underlying cause of her client’s biggest concerns in life and supports them with the tools to manage these obstacles. After going through a rough phase in her life, she decided to further deepen her  yoga practice and her knowledge in Reiki or energy healing which led her to open “Practise & Heal with Ezan”. Under this umbrella, she runs her Aroma Yoga classes as well as Reiki sessions. Recently, she has also incorporated the Tibetan Singing Bowl into all her sessions where the sound vibrations from the singing bowl impact our nervous system, engaging our relaxation reflex and inhibiting the stress or pain response.


sneaks of our adventure in sapa

Begin your mornings by energizing your body through guided Aroma Yoga by Ezan. Among some of the activities we will be doing are guided art and journalling sessions by Asha that encourage you to release, reflect and also to just be. We will also be doing trekking, have an exclusive experience staying in a local Hmong tribe's home and learn more about their way of life. We end our days early, with relaxing yoga and heart-to-heart conversations during dinner. Have an early rest or stay up with a hot cuppa to marvel at the constellation of stars!


OUR SOJOURN IN SAPA

We will be spending 2 nights in the base of Sapa town, in an old historic french colonial home run by locals serving delicious and fresh vegan meals and complete room amenities. We will also seek temporary respite for a night after our trek at a local tribe’s home situated within the forests where you get a first hand experience of the culture and customs of the Hmong Tribe. Spend your last 3 days 2 nights all comfortable and chic with amazing birds eye views as we pack our bags and make our journey into the valleys of Sapa. Situated within the nature reserve, you will be staying in a traditional wooden home run by locals in which you will enjoy restful sleep (twin sharing) with essential room amenities, savour on organic and fresh produce straight from the farm as you breath in fresh air, appreciate the serenity of nature and tranquil scenery all around you and most importantly, reconnect with what matters to you.

Aroma Yoga With Ezan

Yoga is more than just a workout for the body. It is also the workout for the mind and soul. Begin your mornings with breathing exercises and yoga movements to elevate your energy and warm up your body for the day. Sessions will be accompanied with the Tibetan singing bowls. Each day, we acknowledge and practice gratefulness to a body part, sense and/or emotion, encouraging acceptance and release. Before we sleep, slow down with relaxing stretches to unwind, releasing the body from aches and tensions and a mind away from clutter. Sessions are beginner friendly and Young Living essential oils are provided.

Soul Sessions With Asha

Our soul sessions are designed to bring you back to the core of practicing the true meaning of self care. In these interactive and hands on sessions, you are invited to explore reflection and self awareness through open conversations, journaling and self expression through art. Learn to practice observing how our experiences, both good and bad have a lasting effect on our minds and bodies and explore strategies of how to better manage habits and mindsets that no longer serve you well in your life.This awareness will then empower you to set sustainable intentions that see you following through them, listening to your authentic self, acknowledging the experiences that you choose to keep and let go, cultivating your strengths, embracing your weaknesses and understanding that growth is never an overnight thing but rather a process that requires little steps consistently.

Pre and Post Retreat

Retreats usually leave us on a high until we get back home and struggle to practice whatever we have learnt. We want you to enjoy this retreat not to escape life but instead this retreat should support you so that your life does not escape you. Thus we have designed pre and post retreat sessions for you so that your growth does not stop halfway. We will meet together before and after the retreat to set and check in on our intentions, you will also get to meet the other fellow travellers and bond through working together to create a sharing project that will be presented to the local Hmong tribe ladies. You will also have a 1 hour 1-1 personal session with Asha to support you through the goals you've set post retreat plus 1 x complimentary pass to communal cooking or creative sessions at Asha&Co and a one time 75 min Aromayoga/Reiki session with Ezan when we come back to Singapore.
